Overview

This 2 day trip to NinhBinh from Hanoi will cover the most highlights of NinhBinh: visit to Hoa Lu – the ancient Royal Capital of Vietnam and Trang An scenic landscape with Halong type views of majestic limestone cliffs and mysterious yet inviting caves; Hang Mua (Mua Cave) to have spectacular views over Tam Coc and NinhBinh’s stunning countryside and relax on boat trip on Van Long Nature Reserve of wetlands.

Day 1: Hanoi – NinhBinh – Hoa Lu – Trang An complex (L, D)

Morning depart from Hanoi to NinhBinh, located in the marshy Red River delta, featuring a network of waterways coupled with spectacular limestone formations rising up from rice paddy fields. Spend one hour visiting the Dinh and Le temples of the Ancient Capital Hoa Lu which are dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, the founders of the ancient capital during the 10th century.

Transfer to your hotel for checking in, take rest and have lunch at restaurant with local specialties.

Afternoon, continue to visit Trang An Scenic Landscape complex nearby which recently recognized as an UNESCO World natural heritage, get on a rowing boat (small sampan) traveling along the small river with scenic mountain and green fields landscape. Boat takes you to visit cave complex of Trang An: Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, NauRuou in mystery and wildness, the scenery of mountain and rivers – Halong on land of NinhBinh.

Have dinner at restaurant and overnight at hotel in NinhBinh.

Day 2: Mua Cave – Van Long Floating Village – Hanoi (B, L)

After breakfast, check out your hotel and traveling to Hang Mua, you will wallow in a wonderful landscape of mountain, valley and river. We first climb up hundreds of steps to lead to a temple on top of a hill, the spectacular views from Hang Mua over Tam Coc and NinhBinh’s stunning countryside are well worth the effort.

Continue to Van Long floating village (wetland) then take a boat trip rowing along this beautiful wetland of Van Long Natural Reserve, enjoying spectacular scenery surrounded by rice paddies and towering limestone mountain peaks. After the boat ride, hop on a bike to discover the countryside of Van Long floating village.

Have lunch at local restaurant before driving back to Hanoi late in the afternoon. Finish at your hotel.
